- There is a perimeter of mixed species along the roundabout in my neighborhood, and I have been checking the common milkweed several times a week. I had previously observed eggs here, and now they seem to have hatched! On one common milkweed there was a 4th instar, and on a different common milkweed there was a 2nd instar. The HOA does mow the area closest to the road, but they (so far) are leaving the plants intact.
