- The milkweed is growing in my backyard. In 2023 I gathered and planted a few seed pods from milkweed growing at the side of the road at the corner of Farmers Blvd and Conduit Ave. South in Queens, N.Y. 11434 (Latitude: 40.66601 | Longitude: -73.767837). This is the first year that I have found monarch eggs on the plants. I also observed a monarch butterfly briefly perching on the bottoms of leaves on 7/30/25.
