- I looked at 30 common milkweed plants. I saw five eggs total and three 4th instars. Milkweed plants are mixed in with other species of plants and the grass around the plants is cut short to keep a trail. Other insect, etc. species seen: aphids, oleander aphids, leaf hopper, spiders, ants, ladybugs, snails, stink bug
