Planted a single Asclepias incarnata plant on 6/9/2024 in a new flower garden in the backyard of a residence. The plant was purchased at a garden center.
Noticed ten caterpillars on the plant on 8/23/2024. Within 48 hours, observed formation of six chrysalides. Two of the remaining caterpillars died and two disappeared (either died or we can’t find the chrysalides). One of the chrysalides disappeared the next day (assumed eaten) and five chrysalides remain intact as of 8/29/2024. Performing daily observation.
